I’ve always been into odd music. I appreciate the creativity that goes into making a song that sounds like no other. You’ve heard my thoughts on Trampled By Turtles, and Valerie June. Well, here’s another interesting band that goes its own way. Like those others, I’d also call it “American Music”. It seems like a mix of folk, bluegrass, and alternative. They’ve got a Banjo going for them (and God knows, an American band needs a banjo). The band is called, The Dead South. I don’t know how long they’ve been around, and I’ve been watching their videos on the Youtube, and I’m impressed. This Song’s title is: In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company. Check it out:
What do you think?!?! I can honestly say, that I’ve NEVER heard a song like that before. And I’m diggin the video. It’s simple and to the point. But they look like they’re having fun making it. I’m not sure why they call themselves, The Dead South; but their clothes, and the banjo harken back to times past; ‘Or maybe the Amish of today…
Here goes another one from them: It’s called Honey You!
