— The Taxman — That Beatles Song — Have You Ever Read The Lyrics??

Have you ever heard the song, Taxman, by the Beatles.  It seems fitting to post it now-a-days when the government collects as much as 65% of the top owners money.  I’ll also add the lyrics below.  Pay attention to that 3rd verse.  It’s pretty much what we got going on right now.  Every conceivable thing you do, someone (by which I mean government) is going to try and collect taxes on it.

You know what?  Just for the fun of it, I’ll throw in some footage from the Beatles Cartoon..

Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
Cos I’m the taxman,yeah, I’m the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman

If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat
If you get too cold, I’ll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet

Taxman!
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman

Don’t ask me what I want it for
If you don’t want to pay some more
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

And you’re working for no one but me

Right!?  Even in the late 1960’s, they understood how the taxman works.  No matter what you do, government will find a way to tax you for it.  What would you say if someone was gonna tax you for the rain that fell on your house???  What a bummer!
