— My Visit To The US Grand Prix — Formula One

Alright!  If you know me, you know I’m a huge Formula One Fan.  I’ve seen every race for about the last 7 or 8 years.  I started out as a Indycar Fan until they basically forced all the cars to be the same.  After living in Europe, Formula One [F1] is all I can watch now.

After traveling to many of the tracks merely to see the courses (The old Long Beach Circuit, Monaco, and Imola) It was no accident I wanted to move to Texas.  I’d be lying if the new Circuit Of The Americas (racetrack) wasn’t included within that calculus.  The track is here (in Austin) and that’s where I wanted to be.

After a break from a US Grand Prix, it was great to go and see the European crowd come to the US for our race.  Great people, great world-class circuit and it bodes well for the future of Formula One in the United States.  Here’s some of the sights and sounds.

If you’ve never been, just know that Formula one is the height of  Sports car racing world-wide.  They are the height of automotive performance.  They are ear splitting loud, but it becomes apparent after you realize that they can go from 0-100-0 mph in about the time it takes the most impressive street cars to get to 60 mph.  They are beasts that require wings to keep them on the ground. Anyways..  Let me know if you want to go next year and we’ll meet up.
