— FBI Mine Resistant Armored Vehicles — Really?

I know alot of people don’t seem to care that law enforcement within the united states continues to become evermore paramilitary (SWAT team, Special Operations Forces, Intelligence, Anti-Terror).  But when our Investigators become door-kickers we have a problem.  Does no one see a problem with the Federal Bureau of “Investigations” rocking Mine Resistant Vehicles?  They apparently got this one from the Marine Corps a few years back but how does this fit into Investigations?

I can barely see why a local police department would need an armored van, but an Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle.  Well, they’re proud of it but I could probably understand it if we were having FBI agents getting blown up in the streets of San Diego, or Seattle, or Denver, or… anywhere.  Alas, what is so important about needing something when you get to spend other people’s money to buy what you want?  But ahhh, doesn’t it make you feel more safe?
