This past week Apple Co-founder Steve Jobs passed away due to a long fight with Cancer. He had a great life, and provided so much to technology and to mankind. My first experience with any of Jobs’ products was a gorgeous little Macintosh computer at the library on the University of Colorado, at Colorado Springs (I think that was the school) when I was a young’in. After that It was Apple 2C’s and Newton’s and others. He was a true genius and most there can be no doubt that his creativity allowed him to think differently and it was no accident when Apple put out the commercial entitled “Think Different”, (alternately known as “Crazy Ones) from 1997.
Text of the Commercial
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify and vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as crazy, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
He leaves a company that is temporarily more valuable than Exxon Mobil. He has introduced millions to technology that many of us love. On the way out, it was disclosed that he left 4 years worth of direction and plans for his company in his immediate absence.
